The Michigan Legacy Art Park is recognized by the State of Michigan and the Federal Government as a non-profit corporation providing cultural, artistic, educational, and recreational services to the public. While independent of Crystal Mountain, we are honored to include the resort among our supporters. Crystal Mountain owners Jim and Chris MacInnes and the Petritz family embrace Barr’s vision and donate use of the site as well as support services to the artistic cause.
Because of our unique relationship with Crystal Mountain, your support goes further when you donate to the Michigan Legacy Art Park. Our donors are relieved of paying for 30-acres of land (we lease it for $1 per year), office space and equipment, copies, overhead, and the list goes on. Thanks to the support of Crystal Mountain, your contribution directly supports our mission-driven activities: new art, education programs, park beautification, and professional management.
Michigan Legacy Art Park is always in need of lumber, rocks, and granite as well as items and services that help decrease the cost of art installation, daily operations and fundraising events.

More Ways to Suppport the Art Park
- Poetry stones: a subtle, beautiful way to support the Art Park. (poetry subject to approval by jury committee.)
- Adopt-A-Sculpture!
- Sponsor an education program: leave a lasting impression on our young people by giving them the opportunity to work with an artist and take a field trip to the Art Park.
- Designate the Michigan Legacy Art Park as a beneficiary in your Will or living trust • Sponsor the Summer Sounds Concert Series
- Buy a sign: new signs will grace the trails in the coming years and will help visitors interpret the art, their surroundings, and Michigan’s unique history. Sponsor’s name or logo will be printed on the sign they sponsor – 20 year warranty on each sign.
- Underwrite our annual newsletter: 4,000 copies are printed each year and are distributed to our supporters and local businesses.
