Fairies & Forts

Saturday, June 21, 2014

2 – 5 p.m.
Free with general Park admission: $5 per adult, children free

Join us for Fairies & Forts – the 2014 Summer Kick-off event and children's concert at Michigan Legacy Art Park featuring Joe Reilly!

What better way to usher in the celebration of long summer days than to sing, dance and use your imagination in a natural setting. Children of all ages are invited to create their own fort or fairy house, flower tiaras, fairies, flags, and drums.

Fairy crafting will be led by Dana Goodwin, founding director and teacher of the The Children’s Urban Garden and Atelier. Fairy tale story time is sponsored by the Betsie Valley District Library. Joe Reilly is a singer, songwriter, and educator from Ann Arbor, Michigan who writes songs from his heart. Joe’s songs are playful, clever, engaging, joyful, and always have something meaningful to say. After the concert, Joe will lead participants on a march to the Fort for the annual raising of the flag.

Event is free with general Art Park admission: $5 per adult, children free. Light refreshments will be provided.
